Nestled in the hills of Travis County sits a beautiful two story home purchased and remodeled by a couple looking to relocate to Texas. This young couple was more than willing to take on the challenge of upgrading their new home. With twin babies on the way, remodeling is not always an easy task!
The homeowner Lynn, was an inspiration to say the least! With a long list of modifications that needed to be done to the home, Lynn was fearless and ready to schedule her contractors. Blue Label Granite was fortunate enough to be selected for the countertop, backsplash and fireplace tile installations. While installing the countertops, she found that her tile floors were not installed properly and commissioned Blue Label Granite to demolish and reinstall all of the tile flooring as well. The finishes that Lynn selected are what really made this renovation shine! For the countertops she selected an engineered quartz that was created to simulate the look of natural marble without the strict upkeep! Natural marble can be difficult to maintain because of its porosity, while engineered quartz is low maintenance (perfect for soon to arrive twin babies)!
The homeowner selected a dark brown stain for her cabinets, which complimented the white quartz counters beautifully. For the backsplash tile, the homeowner opted for the real deal natural marble, named Ornamental White Marble random strip mosaic. With the natural marble on the wall instead of the counters, there is lower risk for staining or scratching. For the fireplace, she brought in more of a natural finish component with a Cream Gold Stacked Slate tile. The finish was a rough texture that broke up the smooth finish on the walls.
For the flooring, the homeowner selected Ciudad Ash gray porcelain tile. Using a 12×24” tile really gave a modern feel to the space. Accented with dark hardwood floors in the living area, the entire spaces feels clean and crisp!
